the potentials who speak and act.

the extras, yes, I'm crazy enough to count them.

the ones who the First sent to kill the potential slayers.

Meet the girls that will kill the demons at night.

News:
A scythe-activated slayer recently appeared in the newly remodeled Angel! Dana (Navi Rawat) a mental instituted slayer on the episode "Damage" that aired Jan. 28. Also Andrew (Andrew Lenk) strangely guest starred in the episode. I say stangely because the producers said they would only use characters that fit in... he never does fit in but... more comments on the episode in "Slayers" page.

My theory on the slayer line:
The reason there were so many potentials was because they are backups.
Since the slayer of our generation was only suppose to last a year or two.
Kendra lasted one year. When the next generation is born, they will be
activated as slayers when they reach puberty. So all the slayers that were
now activated are over 12 years old. The ones that were suppose to be slayers
after them, will when they reach that age. And the ones that are now activated
will remain slayers till they die. The ones that are now activated are for like
the next five years or so generation. The 'next' generation are the teenagers
of our next decade.

It's all theories because unfortunately Joss and crew hasn't set solid in grave
rules. It's good because we can have discussions like this. I guess being a
slayer is a metaphor for being a woman like Andrew said in "Potential."

How to Identify a Slayer:
In the movie the identification was a mole. Buffy, the valley girl she was,
naturally had it removed with a fancy laser. This I think was a joke on
how superficial Buffy was. In the show, there is no such mole. So how
do Watchers knew the potentials were potentials? Who knows. But we
do know that seers and especially the Coven in Devon knew. So it is
natural to think that the Watchers had seers.
